The Confluence Overlook and surrounding area is extremely dry. No water is available along the trail, and there is no trail to the river from the Overlook.
The trail begins at the Big Spring Canyon Overlook, climbs in and out of the canyon, then becomes relatively flat. The Overlook provides a spectacular view of the Green and Colorado Rivers flowing together 1,000 feet below the rim. Visitors can sometimes see rafts on the river and big horn sheep on the cliffs. there is one short ladder on the Confluence trail. This trail can be very hot in the summer , with very little shade available.
